Steps to Becoming a Licensed Michigan Real Estate Agent

Living near the Michigan and Indiana state border, it is possible to obtain a real estate license for the State of Michigan to conduct real estate out of state. Michigan has a two tiered licensing system. Licensees must start their careers as a Salesperson.

The steps for obtaining a Salesperson License are as follows:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED Diploma
  • Complete and Pass an approved Michigan 40 Hour Salespersons Pre-Licensing Course
  • Pass the Michigan State Salespersons Examination
  • Affiliate with a Managing Broker to hold your salespersons license
  • Submit an application and pay a fee to the State of Michigan for your license.

The first step to your new career begins with the 40 Hour Pre-Licensing Course. Check out our 2015 Schedule for Michigan Salespersons Pre-Licensing Sources, and enroll online click here.
